I am a NewBie, looking for information of M2M platforms. Right now everyone is talking about M2M platforms, like Jasper, Sensorlogic or Axeda, has anyone created a M2M platform comparison document or website?
PS: Apologies if this was posted in teh wrong section.

To my knowledge, Jasper Platform focuses on connectivity management, e.g. SIM monitoring and management. However Sensorlogic or Axeda's platform, they are focusing on application layer, which offers easy way to make machine connected ( wired or wireless), enables customers to focus on user interfaces of the specific M2M application.
The industry tends to lump two unique platforms, Service Delivery Platforms like Jasper and M2M Application Enablement Platforms like Axeda into the general category of M2M platforms. As the previous response described, SDPs focus on SIM Management including provisioning, billing and monitoring. AEPs focus on M2M connectivity software, machine data management and API's for developing applications. An AEP provider provides software agents/libraries that reside on devices and collect data and send it to a machine cloud to be organized and stored. This machine cloud, part of the AEP, includes an M2M data model, rules engine for processing data and web services for accessing the data. The AEP often includes a Message Queue for integrating data with business systems and tools more managing M2M device lifecycles, i.e. montitoring the device, pushing firmware to it, configuring it, etc. Hope that helps.
