WAC Payment API Update: UK available, GSMA integrates WAC
Aug 3rdThe WAC Payment API delivers a simple, easy-to-use mobile payment experience across mobile networks. Since our last update on the WAC payment solution, some really good developments took place:
WAC Payment API available in the UK
Early July WAC announced in its developer newsletter that the major operators in the UK (T-Mobile, Orange and 3) have been added to the platform and are available for beta testing now. Developers can now test and submit content for certification in these new operators. The new operators are expected to be ‘commercially live’ in the next couple of weeks, unlocking additional +40 mn customers to you.
Integration of the WAC initiative into the GSMA
Also good news: last week it was announced that the WAC initiative will be integrated into the global mobile industry association GSMA. This is a good move as it allows to scale the WAC solution across the whole GSMA’s membership, including nearly 800 mobile operators worldwide. Further Apigee, a leading provider of API products and services, has acquired the technology assets of WAC, and will provide and evolve these assets as a managed service to the GSMA and its mobile operator members.
Tripwolf integrates WAC payment into their Android app
Also worthwhile to mention: Tripwolf integrated WAC payment into their Android version of the famous city travel guide app which you can find on Google Play.
Tripwolf’s CEO, Sebastian Heinzel told us "we've chosen WAC because we wanted to increase our revenues through better conversion rates. The integration of WAC was surprisingly easy, it took us less then a week".
The WAC payment solution is available for everyone and comes with SDKs for multiple platforms, e.g. Android, PhoneGap, PHP and .NET. Check out the developer guides, register as developer and start to code your own app right away.
