Security Design - Development of Security Architectures - April 15, 2010 Darmstadt

Security Design - Systematic Development of Security Architectures

“Is it secure enough?” – A question that is certainly quite hard to answer if you develop security designs for complex IT systems. What basis should the decision be made on? How do we achieve the balance between security requirements, costs and usability?

The presentation demonstrates a method for the systematic development of security architectures, which is based on model-driven security concepts and which emerged in projects such as the NY Subway, for example, where it has been further developed. The method’s objective is to make design decisions vis-à-vis security based on the corresponding requirements and a systematic hazard and risk analysis, to comprehensibly document these decisions, and to define a security design that can be optimally integrated into the entire architecture of an IT system.

The TechTalk target group focuses on architects and developers of software systems that include security-relevant aspects.

The TechTalk will be held in German.
