From Stack Trace to Scrum - Agile Software Development with Mylyn

The rapid growth of the Mylyn user community demonstrates the next evolution step for integrated development environments: Stories and Tasks take on a more central role as source code. Focus is more important than features, and integration with agile work methods provides a significant productivity boost.

The presentation on Nov. 25, 2010 in Darmstadt shows how, with the latest Mylyn version, the task-focused modus operandi, multitasking within seconds and automated change tracking can be used directly in the IDE. An overview of the constantly growing Ecosystem, which offers numerous extensions for integrating ALM and bug-tracking systems, such as Bugzilla, Trac and JIRA, makes it clear how the entire agile team can benefit. The presentation will also address the Mylyn positioning as an Eclipse top level project and provide a forecast of the planned extensions for Builds (Hudson), Reviews and SCM.
The TechTalk target group focuses on software system architects and developers. The TechTalk will be held in German.

The event is held at Deutsche Telekom AG, Products & Innovation in Darmstadt. Interested colleagues and external guests can register with a formless e-mail with their name/company to by Nov. 23, 2010 at the latest.

When he is not on his bike in the mountains round about Vancouver, he is working on Mylyn-based tools to make developers more productive. Steffen completed his software engineering studies at the University of Stuttgart in 2006, and has since been a Mylyn Committer and active in the Eclipse P2 and MPC project. He is fascinated by the quality and extensibility of the Eclipse platform, which continuously inspires him to improve the Mylyn framework.
