About Mobile World Congress

The Mobile World Congress is the largest mobile communications fair in Europe and has taken place every year since 1987. After previously meeting in Cannes, the international mobile communications sector met for the first time in Barcelona in 2006 - though at that time the event was still known as the “3GSM World Congress”.
The number of visitors had been rising for years, which made the change of venue necessary; this shows how important mobile communications have become in our lives.
