TechTalk: The browser as IDE - Software development of the future with Orion
The browser has now become one of the most important tools for software development. Bug trackers, documentation and wikis, build servers, and a whole host of special tools run in the browser.

The relatively new Orion projekt was launched in January 2011 at Eclipse and aims to migrate remaining software development activities to the browser.
- How is purely Web-based software development possible?
- Is the Web platform now good enough to complete core tasks such as editing, navigation and search, version control, unit testing etc. in the browser?
- How are different tools integrated on the Web?
- Why should we even attempt to use the browser as IDE?
Using live demonstrations of Orion’s current status, Dr. Boris Bokowski from IBM will answer these questions. Orion provides a high-performance, scalable code editor, basis functions such as navigation and search, and integration with git. For more information about Orion, please go to: http://eclipse.org/orion.
TechTalk’s target group includes all software developers who are interested in tools and the future of software development.

ABOUT TECHTALK
With the TechTalk format, the Developer Garden – Telekom's developers' platform – offers a discussion forum for developer topics and trends in technology. The events begin with presentations and demonstrations from experts. The floor is then opened for questions and discussions. Afterwards, you can meet the speakers and other participants at the buffet, exchanging ideas and making new contacts.
TechTalks are currently taking place in Berlin and Darmstadt. And if you can't make it in person, you can follow the presentations as a live stream and participate in the online chat. We also post videos of the events on our YouTube channel afterwards.
