TechTalk | GIT – Distributed Version Control System
Since the GIT and Mercurial adaption with well-known open source projects such as Linux Kernel, OpenJDK, Android, Ruby and Perl, developers now focus more and more on decentral version control systems.
These systems increasingly replace or supplement existing version control systems in companies (such as Subversion, for example). Their unique features provide the developer with a broad range of scope for designing in their everyday work and enable numerous new workflows, as seen with GitHub as a method for “Social Coding” – social networks for developers.
With his presentation, David Soria Parra, Software Engineer at SUN Microsystems, offers you an insight into everyday work with GIT and shows how easy GIT can be integrated into existing infrastructures.
The TechTalk target group includes all users of version control systems such as CVS or Subversion, as well as developers and anyone interested in open source technologies.
The TechTalk will be held in German.

ABOUT TECHTALK
With the TechTalk format, the Developer Garden – Telekom's developers' platform – offers a discussion forum for developer topics and trends in technology. The events begin with presentations and demonstrations from experts. The floor is then opened for questions and discussions. Afterwards, you can meet the speakers and other participants at the buffet, exchanging ideas and making new contacts.
TechTalks are currently taking place in Berlin and Darmstadt. And if you can't make it in person, you can follow the presentations as a live stream and participate in the online chat. We also post videos of the events on our YouTube channel afterwards.
