Send SMS: Now with 1000 recipients

The API Send SMS also features now a function that lets you send a message to up to 1000 recipients at once. Each text message sent to each recipient is still charged.

Send MMS 1.0 online

The time has come: Our Send MMS API is no longer in its beta phase and can be used in its full functionality from now on. That is why the Send MMS [beta] service will be automatically deactivated in your account on 2 February 2011 and will no longer be available. If you wish to continue using the MMS service you can activate the new full version of Send MMS under MyGarden.

We have redeveloped our software development kits from scratch: From now on, our services will be activated via SDKs using REST. This means: lower communications overheads, reduced use of resources and, at the same time, better structuring of the SDK.

Send MMS Beta API Launch

With Send MMS, there is now a new API in the Developer Garden portfolio. Send MMS is currently still at the beta stage. Nonetheless, we would like to make the service exclusively available to you cost-free on a test basis with immediate effect.

With Send MMS, you can incorporate MMS functions into your applications: from advertising and voucher campaigns to digital greeting cards and barcodes for mobile ticketing.

The multimedia files can be sent to up to 10 subscribers simultaneously.

Voice Call Update 3.0

The new Voice Call release means that A subscribers can now also dial in from a cell phone - both nationally and internationally.

The Voice Call billing model has also changed: The new prices are per subscriber and no longer per call between two subscribers. The total price of a call is therefore calculated by adding together the call charges between the A and B subscribers.In addition, several Voice Call calls are now cheaper than before: A call between the German fixed and the German mobile network, for example, now costs more than 3 cents less per minute. Furthermore the number of available networks abroad has increased.

SMS to E-Plus mobile network with the SendSMS API is now working correctly.

Problems with SMS to E-Plus mobile network (SendSMS)

We are currently experiencing problems with the transmission of text messages to E-Plus network users.

Messages containing non-numerical characters in the originator field might not be transmitted. Messages from originators containing only numerical characters (numbers) are not affected.

We are working on the issue and will keep you up-to-date.

New payment method: credit top-ups by text message

So far, you have been able to top up your Developer Garden account via credit card, PayPal, ClickandBuy, or your T-Mobile invoice. Now you can top up via your cell phone invoice or prepaid credit from all mobile providers in Germany:

Simply enter your cell phone number in the online payment mode and you will receive a text message containing a transaction number (TAN). Enter this TAN into the online form to confirm payment. The TAN is valid for 10 minutes and can only be used once. Once the TAN has been used, the amount is billed on your cell phone invoice or deducted from your prepaid credit.

We have further enhanced the Developer Garden services for you: As of June 2010, you can benefit from extended Conference Call and Voice Call services. In addition to this, we are lowering the prices for Conference Call and changing the invoicing model for Voice Call.

The new features at a glance:

Conference Call 1.0

In future, Conference Call will not only offer you more functions (e.g. showing telephone number of the conference initiator during dial-out, enlargement of the description field), but will at the same time become considerably cheaper. So cheap in fact, that Conference Call Light will be dropped in the future.

Voice Call 2.0

With the new Voice Call Release, the A subscriber can now also log in from a cell phone. This is not just within Germany, but also internationally - in accordance with the new price list.

For this reason, the invoicing model for Voice Call is changing. The new prices are per subscriber, no longer per call between two subscribers. The total price of a call therefore results from the sum of the call charges between the A and B subscribers.

For example: If a German fixed-network customer wishes to call another fixed-network customer in France, the total price results from the sum of the call duration to A in Germany, multiplied by the relevant price given (1.6 cents gross/minute) plus the call duration to B in France multiplied by the price stated for that (2.4 cents gross/ minute). Should the B subscriber not accept the call, there will still be no costs for the call to the A subscriber.

In future, you will be able to find an exact listing of all calls for each individual subscriber in the usage overview.
