“CommunicationCenter for SugarCRM” is a plug-in for the OpenSource CRM solution “SugarCRM Community Edition”, version 5.2 and higher.

This makes it possible to use different communication services without the need for integration directly from within SugarCRM, based on Open Development Services. Services include phone calls to an existing contact person in the system or any number (VoiceCall), sending SMS to an existing contact person or any number as well as planning and holding telephone conferences with multiple participants (ConferenceCall).
SyroCon Consulting GmbH is the development partner for Deutsche Telekom Open Development Services and offers the “CommunicationCenter for SugarCRM” plug-in as a free option for SugarCRM users and developers. A Developer Garden prepaid account or the conclusion of a postpaid contract for Deutsche Telekom’s Open Development Services is required to use the communication services.

SMS

An SMS can be sent via a contact person. If a cell phone number is stored, the “SMS senden” (Send SMS) button appears.  Clicking on the button displays an input screen for creating and sending an SMS. The sent SMS then also appears under the contact in the personal sub-panel.
It is also possible to create and send an SMS directly via “Neue SMS” (New SMS) in the “Aktivitäten” (Activities) tab independently of a contact person. All SMS are stored under “SMS” in the “Aktivitäten” (Activities) tab.

VoiceCall

A VoiceCall can be sent directly from the detailed view of a contact person stored in CRM. For this purpose, a “VoiceCall” button appears after each phone number entered.  Clicking on the button displays an input screen for creating and making a VoiceCall. Firstly the Sugar user is called on his office number stored, and subsequently the contact is called. Both numbers can be overwritten, if required. The VoiceCall made appears under the contact person.
It is also possible to create and make a VoiceCall directly via “Neuer Anruf/Konferenz” (New call/conference) in the “Aktivitäten” (Activities) tab independently of a contact person. All VoiceCalls are stored under “Anrufe” (Calls) in the “Aktivitäten” (Activities) tab.

ConferenceCall

A ConferenceCall is always initiated from within the “Aktivitäten” (Activities) tab via “Neuer Anruf/Konferenz” (New call/conference). As is customary for Sugar, participants can be selected via the search field in the bottom area of the screen. Once the time of the ConferenceCall as well as all participants have been entered, the call is saved since invitations generally have to be sent to the participants at this stage. When the entry created is reopened, the ConferenceCall can be stored and activated on the DeveloperGarden server via “Konferenz aktivieren” (Activate conference). The ConferenceCall would then automatically start at the defined time. Alternatively, it can also be stored and started directly via “Adhoc Konferenz” (Ad-hoc conference). As soon as a ConferenceCall has been activated or started, a “Details” button appears via which the ConferenceCall can be controlled. The Details window displays the status of each participant during the conference. The user is able to extend the duration, select an alternative number for each participant and dial it via “Re-Dial”, re-integrate cut-off participants into the ConferenceCall via “Re-Dial”, mute participants, delete participants or manually add participants.
