Attractive business models ranging from advertising to ticketing systems

Send MMS makes it easy to send adverts and vouchers in picture format, as well as animated greetings cards. Ticket codes can be sent via cell phone, enabling fast check-in at airports. In addition, technical data, such as circuit schematics or diagrams, can be sent to field service employees with just a few mouse clicks.

Send text messages, images and audio and video files to as many as ten subscribers simultaneously

Send MMS allows you to send multimedia messages to as many as ten recipients in the German mobile network simultaneously.

To do this,

  • the recipient's phone number,
  • a text message as the subject of the MMS,
  • a sender ID, and
  • a file attachment

are transmitted to Send MMS via a Web service interface.

The subject line can be up to 40 characters in length and the attachment size 300 KB for base64-coded files. Only file attachments with certain formats (mime types) are supported. A detailed lists of all permitted formats is available in our documentation.

Direct response option with phone number validation

The customer has the option of providing sender ID. If no such ID is provided, a Deutsche Telekom service number shall be transferred automatically as the sender ID.

Before sending an MMS message, any cell phone number can be entered as the sender. This function allows recipients to respond directly to the MMS message. For security reasons, each new phone number is validated once using a key word MMS message to check the correct sender phone number. (Please note: The network operator E-Plus generally replaces all authorized sender IDs with its own service number.) Such action is outside of Deutsche Telekom's area of responsibility.

Play it safe, with tests in the Sandbox environment

Once you have registered and activated the service, Send MMS is available to test free of charge in the sandbox. However, a Developer Garden logo is sent as a test instead of a freely-chosen file. Up to ten test runs can be initiated per day.
