"Don't REST! REST!" Vol. 2 - The REST SDKs are here.

The start of the year saw the arrival of our REST interfaces. Now we have also redeveloped our software developing kits from scratch: from now on, our services will be activated via SDKs using REST. This means a reduced "communications overhead", lower consumption of resources as well as a better structuring of the SDKs and fewer external dependencies.

New Developer Garden API: Send MMS Beta

With Send MMS there is now a new API in the Developer Garden portfolio. Although the API still has beta status, we would like to make the service available to you now exclusively for testing - free of charge, of course. With Send MMS you can incorporate MMS functions into your applications: from advertising and voucher campaigns to digital greetings cards and barcodes for tickets sent via cell phones. The files can then be sent to up to 10 subscribers simultaneously.

Update: Voice Call 3.0

We have also further developed our Voice Call service: with the new Voice Call release it is now also possible for A subscribers to be reached in the mobile communications network - both nationally and internationally. The Voice Call billing model has also been modified: the new prices are per subscriber and no longer per call between two subscribers. In addition, several calls are cheaper than before: for example, you can save over 3 cents per minute on a call made between the German fixed network and the German mobile network.

More payment options: From now on, payment on account

Up until now you could only top up your account using a prepaid process. From now on, payment on account using a postpaid process is possible as well. Show us your project ideas and business models for lucrative applications and we will check whether a postpaid account is an option for you.

Unify: Developing mobile applications across platforms

The open source project Unify was born out of a need to increase efficiency in the development of mobile applications. In addition to creating savings by reusing code for different platforms, Unify is increasing efficiency in the development process. Less expertise is required. All developers use the same technology, which results in better exchange and collaboration opportunities in application development. Unify is based on web technologies such as HTML5, JavaScript and CSS and currently supports Smartphones based on the iOS (iPhone), Android (Google) and WebOS (HP/Palm) platforms.

Example application from the community: Send SMS free of charge from your desktop (Send SMS Windows Sidebar Gadget)

With the Send SMS Sidebar Gadget you can easily send SMS from your Windows sidebar. The application is based on our Send SMS API and includes an address book, character counter, history recording and much more. The user can send 10 SMS per day free of charge in sandbox mode. In production mode, the number of SMS is unlimited on the standard rate plan.
